• “I’ve experienced several of these enchanted country evenings in the Cotswolds of England. As I arrive, the inviting warmth of the beautifully renovated barn at Cat’s Abbey beckons me in. Coming closer, I see within the large windows ahead, a beautiful long wooden table gloriously set with simple yet festive elegance. There is an air of relaxed celebration here. I enter and a glass of prosecco finds its way to my hand. And then a tray with an irresistible morsel of Giovanna’s sumptuous creation arrives for me to sample. What pleasant company is here. New friends and old friends to meet and greet. We’re all so happy to be here and to share with each other. Time disappears. Soon, we’re invited to the table to sit and enjoy a wonderful meal of Giovanna’s home-style Italian cooking. Some of it was grown in her own garden. She’s infused her food with magic again. I can’t explain it except that there’s real love in that food.   • Giovanna’s food is a wonder. Unfussy, clean flavours, everything fresh and from scratch, and beautifully presented. For us she has done a full dinner party, fruit tarts and Torta di Nonna for 12 for Longborough opera, canapés for dinner parties (even the bread for the bruschetta she makes herself), a crostata di fruta using apples from her garden, … and I would use her without reservation for any future events, from doing one course so I can focus on the rest, to cooking the whole meal for us.   • Giovanna’s Tuscan cookery made a perfect celebratory family feast for my mother in law’s birthday here at home this autumn. Giovanna advised on a great menu and then served so many absolutely delicious, authentic and brilliantly executed dishes in our own home for a large dinner party.   • Giovanna catered for a large family gathering at South Hill Farmhouse in Stow to celebrate my mother in law’s 90thbirthday and served the most delicious home-made Italian food.  Her menu suggestions were perfect and her care regarding certain food allergies was amazing.  The whole evening was outstanding from canapes to petit fours.  The kitchen was left gleaming and what a lovely person!  Thank you for a very special memorable evening  (Lisa)
